I SPIT OUT THE GOLD
2022
I Spit Out the Gold, explores triumphant wins and devastating losses in life, and the aftermath of failing in something one dedicates their life to. The 19-minute piece is a culmination of research that we gathered when looking into pop culture phenomenons like international sporting events and award shows. The costuming, sound mixing, and dialogue presented inside of the work is deeply rooted and inspired by the pressure cooker of high profile competitions. What does it feel like when you win? How do you pick up the pieces inside of loss?
